Sharks!!!

While serving as a volunteer missionary in Cape Town, with ACTS http://www.actsoverland.com/ a group went Shark cage diving in Gansbaai, near Cape Town, South Africa! This was such an amazing experience to be in the water with huge Great White Sharks!
I shot these clips with my point and shoot while diving! The part where the camera is upside down and very thing is all crazy and you can see a sharks tail powering away from the cage and hear Kyndall and I screaming, the shark had just hit the cage with his tail! Pretty cool!! Enjoy!
The company that we were diving with is http://www.sharklady.co.za/ I would highly recommend Shark Lady, top notch people!

Mission Trip to Cape Town, South Africa!!

God truly blessed us with an amazing trip to Africa! It was so interesting to see how God worked out every detail to get us to Cape Town and then work through the ministry that we were there to do while there! We worked with ACTS (http://www.actsafrica.com/) and Living Hope Ministries (http://www.livinghope.co.za/). Thank you so much for your prayers! Pray for the children and families that we were blessed to work with while in South Africa and please continue to pray for Zimbabwe and God's plan for that beautiful country!

Refugee Camp in Soetwater

This is the refugee camp at Soetwater where we worked for a week and a half with kids that were from Somalia and Democratic Republic of Congo. The two groups did not get along so we played with kids from the DRC first then ended the day with the Somalian children!
Pray that God would continue to bring light into both sides of this camp.
This is the tent that we were supposed to use on the DRC side of the camp. The tent was ripped really badly during a storm the night before. I am happy to say that most days were were able to play with the DRC kids outside!

Kids from the Democratic Republic of Congo

I was happily surprised when a mission team from Carson-Newman (my alma mater) pulled into the refugee camp to help us for a day!!
It was such a blessing to have a little piece of home to help out!

Tony and his brother, Benny are from the DRC. Their mother has passed away, and their dad remarried and does not want the responsibility of these boys. So they are not only refugees but also orphaned at the camp. These guys stole my heart!

Pray for these two people groups. The Somalians are a Muslim African cultural. The people that are from the DRC are more of a Christian cultural but many of them really do not have any idea who Christ is and how He can impact their daily life! Pray that God would continue to send Christian vol to work with these wonderful people!
